Focused Critical Care
The UPNG Diploma of ICU, offered by the University of Papua New Guinea, is dedicated to improving critical care capabilities in the Pacific region. This specialized course fosters collaboration between doctors from Australia and Papua New Guinea, aiming to enhance healthcare standards and patient outcomes through advanced training and knowledge sharing.
Applications for the UPNG Diploma of Intensive Care Medicine is now open.
The course covers the care of the ICU patient from the initial resuscitation to discharge. The course provides a systems-based approach to critical illness through case discussion. The tutorials are led by ICU consultants from Australia and previous diploma graduates. The course can be taken over 2 or 3 years.
Pre-requisites

Must have a Masters in a Clinical Sciences Discipline

Worked as a specialist for at least 2 years
